To all the Students, Teachers and Parents of Booker T.
Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts,
On behalf of the board and myself, I wish you
all a warm welcome to the 2009-2010 school year, which I hope will be
the best school year for you, so far.
“So far” because although high school is a very important milestone in
our lives, it is hopefully only a preparation for the next level of
your education, which itself will probably play an even greater role in
the person that high school students will become once they reach the
adult life.
It is with that goal in mind (helping our students get to college),
that your 2009-2010 PTSA would like to work hard to increase the money
that will be available to give to students as scholarships in the year
to come, especially as most of us are challenged by a difficult
economy.
Already our PTSA board has had several meetings to plan out the year
and introduce new events that will hopefully help us reach these goals
and make attendance at our meetings more fun and interesting.
Stay tuned as the year begins and take the time to participate.
In closing I want to thank everyone who has taken part in any way to
the success of the previous PTSA and its activities at Booker T.
Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and I wish
you the best success for this coming year.
Sincerely,
Harolde M. Savoy
President
