Each ensemble, Jazz Combo I and II, is an auditioned group that performs extensively throughout the year. Jazz Combo I students have won numerous Downbeat awards and received national recognition. A Jazz Combo I CD is produced annually. In the spring, the Jazz combos perform at the Sammons Center for the Arts.

Jazz students particpate yearly in the TMEA Jazz competition for regional and state.This year Jazz Combo I will be competing in the Monterey Jazz Fest in California in April.
