Each ensemble, Jazz Combo I and II, is an auditioned group that performs extensively throughout the year. Jazz Combo I students have won numerous Downbeat awards and received national recognition. A Jazz Combo I CD is produced annually. In the spring, the Jazz combos perform at the Sammons Center for the Arts.

Jazz students particpate yearly in the TMEA Jazz competition for regional and state.
